Family Volunteer Requirements

Family Volunteer Requirements

2025-2026

Volunteer Policy

  • All LMOR families are required to complete a minimum of two (2) volunteer shifts at Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) meets each season.
  • If this requirement is not met, a $300 volunteer fee will be assessed at the end of the season.
  • Families of swimmers participating in USA Meets will need to provide volunteer support at USA Meets. LMOR is often assigned volunteer roles by the host club and will solicit parents of participating swimmers to fulfill. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please note:

  • This volunteer requirement applies regardless of your child’s participation in SAL meets.
  • No exceptions will be made. We understand that all families have work, school, and other commitments; however, fulfilling this volunteer responsibility is a condition of participation with LMOR.
  • “I didn’t know I needed to volunteer” will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to meet the requirement.
  • “I couldn’t obtain my clearances” will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to meet the requirement.
  •  “My child didn’t participate in meets” will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to meet the requirement.

 All families are informed of the volunteer obligation:

  • Prior to registration opening, via email;
  • During the registration process, where acknowledgment is required;
  • And at multiple points throughout the season (at least three reminders).
  •  t is each family’s responsibility to stay informed and ensure the requirement is fulfilled
  • The volunteer schedule will be shared in October, allowing ample time to select shifts that suit your availability.
  • Volunteer opportunities will be available from November through January.
  • Failure to fulfill the volunteer requirement and/or failure to pay the volunteer fee may result in suspension of the child/family from LMOR activities.

Clearances

All volunteers must obtain Child Abuse and Criminal History Clearances.

  • These are available at no cost for those obtaining them for the purpose of volunteering.
  • If you already have clearances from another volunteer activity, they may be utilized for LMOR provided they have not expired – Clearances are valid for five years.

For new volunteers, all three of the following requirements must be met prior to beginning service as a volunteer. Links to the agency websites to obtain clearances are embedded below.

Families should submit copies of their clearances to lmorvolunteer@gmail.com.

Parent Acknowledgement

I have read and understand the volunteer policy of the Lower Moreland (LMOR) swim team. I acknowledge the following:

1.     My family is required to fulfill two volunteer shifts at Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) meets, regardless of my child’s participation in SAL Meets. This is a condition of participation with LMOR.

2.     If my family fails to fulfill two volunteer requirements, I will be charged the $300 Volunteer Fee on February 1, 2026. This charge will be processed to my credit card on file on Commit.

3.     If my family fails to fulfill two volunteer requirements and is charged the fee, I acknowledge that I cannot file a chargeback or file a dispute with my credit card company for the $300 Volunteer Fee. If I attempt to dispute the charge, my child will be ineligible to participate in all team activities or receive the end of season team gift until the Volunteer Fee has been paid.

4.     If my child participates in USA Swimming meets, there may be additional volunteer requirements. Volunteering at a USA Meet does not count towards the two required meets.
